HomeKnowledge › Alloy surcharge and wire pricing

Wire is priced as base plus alloy surcharge, like all stainless. Nickel drives 304 and 316 pricing; molybdenum lifts 316 and duplex. Surcharges change monthly and quotes are usually valid to month end.

Extras apply for fine sizes, tight tolerances, special tempers, coatings, spooling and small lots. Wire rod is the cheapest form per tonne; every drawing pass, anneal and spool adds cost.

Ask for the price basis (per kg or per tonne, coil or spool, ex-works or delivered), the surcharge month, and the minimum order. For repeat business, agree a base price with a floating surcharge.
