Wire ships as coils (typically 100 to 1000 kg, on pallets or carriers), on plastic or steel spools (1 to 25 kg) in cartons, or on large drums for welding wire. Bright wire is wrapped in VCI paper and plastic to prevent staining.
Specify inside diameter and coil weight to suit your pay-off. Fine wire spools need shock protection. Containers carry 18 to 25 tonnes; sea freight from Asia to Europe or the Americas takes four to six weeks.
On arrival, check coil tags against the certificate, weigh a sample, check for surface staining and confirm diameter with a micrometer before acceptance.
